Lamar Johnson Obituary

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Lamar Johnson, age 58, who passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a member of the Appling County Highschool class of 1978.  Mr. Johnson was a Lineman for 37 years with Georgia Power and attended Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lannis and Louise Dubberly Johnson and brother, Mickey Johnson.

 

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Doris Farr Johnson; four children, Dustin Johnson and wife Malanda; Marah Johnson and Chase Grantham, Rachel Taylor and husband Steven and Russell Ware and Caitlyn Campbell; seven grandchildren, Carter Johnson, Cohen Johnson, Zoe Taylor, Zane Taylor, Nova Taylor, Walker Ware and Brynlee Tomlinson; two sisters, Janice Courson and husband Dwight and Marilyn Bass and husband Mickey; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 3pm at Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend James Minick, Reverend Rick Brown and Reverend Joe Ferguson officiating.

 

Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 1pm to 3pm prior to funeral services at the funeral home.

 

Active pallbearers will be Chip Brinkley, Nelson Biggers, Jere Kimbrel, Tim Claxton, Terry Lee, Eddie Cleland and Edsel Mayers.

 

Honorary pallbearer will be all Georgia Power employees and members of Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
