John "Buddy" Wilkerson

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for John “Buddy” Wilkerson, age 68, who passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta.  He was a native of Wayne County living most of his life in Appling County and a member of Altamaha Baptist Church.  Mr. Wilkerson retired from Hazlehurst Mills and was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Johnson Wilkerson; parents, Merland and Myrtle Lucille Martin Wilkerson and three brothers, Carl Wilkerson, Allen Wilkerson and Wilbur Wilkerson.

Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Joshua and Rebecca Wilkerson of Baxley; three grandchildren, Isabelle Wilkerson, Hunter Bolton and Remington Bolton; one sister, Margaret Tilson of Jesup; one brother and sister in-law, Esmond and Melba Wilkerson of Jesup; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2pm at Altamaha Baptist Church with the Reverend Charles Hutcheson and Reverend Ryan Lamb officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers John Taylor Clary, Charles Klughart, Archie Clary, Al Wilkerson, David Wilkerson and Michael Butler.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and family.
