Velma Colleen (Carter) Kirk

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Velma Colleen Carter Kirk, age 89, who passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Hope West Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County.  She was a retired waitress and cashier and a member of Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Kirk; son, Larry Baxley; parents, Grover and Pearl Blanton Carter and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Morse and husband David of Fruita, CO and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 3pm at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Roy Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm prior to funeral services at the church.

Active Pallbearers will be Tommy Lockhart, Austin Lockhart, Hunter Baxley, Kristopher Morse, Dylan Green and Shawn Mikell.
