Michael W. Leggett Sr.

Miles – Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the death of Michael W. Leggett Sr., age 63, who passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice.  He was a native of St. Simons Island living in Appling County for the past 27 years.  He was a retired brick mason and a member of Oak Grove Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Carlos B. and Mattie Mathis Leggett; nine siblings, Thomas B. Leggett, Jerrell Haffele, Gerald Leggett, Wanda Gribble, Bessie Jane Lane, Mattie Alvada Collins, Patsy Stone, Genell Leggett Hilton and Velma “Smoky” Straley.

He is survived by his wife Joan Carroll Dyer Leggett of Baxley; three daughters, Angela Elizabeth Drummond and husband Kyle, Jeanie Marie Leggett and Samantha Mattie Garner; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one special grandchild, Kasie Elizabeth Drummond; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28 at 2 p.m. from the Miles – Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dennis Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bacon County.

Visitation will be held one prior to services on Thursday.

Active pallbearers will be Nick Foster, Matt Foster, Kasie Elizabeth Drummond, Kenneth Dryer, Carl Stone and Tommy Leggett.
