Katie Virginia (Woods) Smith

Miles~Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the services for Katie Virginia Smith, age 82, who passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Golden Isles.  She was a native of Hinesville, a former resident of Appling County living the past 16 years in St. Marys.  She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Smith.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Fagan of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Juanita Bell and husband Chris, Katie Kersey and William “Bubba” Kersey all of St. Marys; four great grandchildren, Sayde Bell, Carter Bell, Hayden Jackson and Paytin Kersey; one sister, Mary Franes Hines of Sandersville; other family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11am at Miles~Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Fred Garrett officiating.

Interment will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Lee Combee, Zach Johnson, Thomas Horne, Kenneth Trapnell, Brantley Stanfford and Jason Barber.
